A Closer Look

The LAB F.A.Q

In this section we answer Random questions From all over the internet about Carnival Cruises.

1. Choosing A Port

Choosing a port comes down to prioritizing a few questions based on your needs.

Do you want to Drive which saves a ton of money?

Do you want to fly which expands your port opportunities.

4 Prep Travel Docs

As soon as I book I like to find out what travel docs I will need. I like to have it all in place so I can breathe easy. So many people try and rush to get docs at the last minute and end up without what's needed when boarding day comes. Make sure names match, addresses are correct etc... Just knock it out.

Interior Cabins

  • Interior: This is a room that sits inside of the ship. It does not have Windows. It does of course have one door that leads to the hallway. This is the least expensive room on a ship. These rooms are plentiful and usually booked by the busiest cruisers. Cruisers who like to participate in all the onboard activities and have little time for being in the room. Their rooms are for sleeping and showering only. These rooms are also booked by those who need it completely dark to sleep.

2. Choosing A Ship

If you chose a port with multiple ships this is your next step. Now we are looking at Ship amenities. Do you want a Big Ships or Small Ship. Where do you want to go. A lot of the questions you have to ask are the same. It really just boils down to what are your individual needs and wants.

Download Your Playlist

There is no streaming on the ship. Even with the best internet plans, streaming is near impossible. So download your play list ahead of time.

Things to know on Boarding Day

Prepare your docs in an easy to access folder. I carry a backpack that can hold a folder. Before you reach the terminal get those docs ready... You will be asked for them every 30 seconds until you are actually on the ship.

Ocean View Cabins

Ocean View rooms have a window but no balcony to the outside. The door, like the interior Cabin leads to the hallway. This room is the compromise between the interior cabin and the balcony cabin.

Get to Know Your Sailing

Go join your ships community. Go To Facebook and search for group by ship name and sail date . For example if you are on the "Carnival Magic"  leaving on "August 13" ... that's exactly what you will search Facebook for. "Carnival Magic August 13" Sometimes there will be more than one group so pick the one with the most activity or join both! These groups are usually a great place to get to know the people you will be sailing with.
